Skarda's is a great little dive bar located on West 7th in St. Paul. This is exactly the type of place that comes to mind when you say Minnesota dive bar. Bunch of old guys bellied up at the bar drinking domestic beers or whiskey. No kitchen but there is a vending machine as well as Heggies Pizza. Pool tables and darts to the side. I met with a friend for some drinks and had a nice time. The bartender was super friendly and engaged in our conversation. I ordered 3 drinks and my friend had 2. I picked up the tab for us both and all 5 drinks came to a manageable $19.75. WOW! I love a good cheap bar.
Stopped here on a bike ride with a group. Friendly Service and nice outdoor space to sit. Emma is a treat.
Cheapest drinks on West 7th and Dawn is one of the best bartenders in the neighborhood!

If you are a true dive bar enjoyer like I am then this place is right up your alley. As someone who's explored up and down west 7th, this is my favorite on the strip. The bartenders provide good service with the drinks being very fairly priced. There's two dart boards and a pool table which means there's usually not too much of a wait for either given the size of the place. The back deck area is beautiful in the summer and is a great place to chat with the other locals. TouchTunes is available and the music is kept at the perfect level of loud but not overwhelming. If you're hungry there is pizzas available and bags of assorted small snacks which has come in handy many times. We had a larger group together in last night and enjoyed drinks ranging from shaken shots, cocktails, and beer. The shaken shots were good quality for a dive bar and our group never had to wait long for a drink. We will definitely be back.
